You’re living the dream. You rake in more money than you’d ever thought possible. From the outside? Your life seems perfect.
Inside…you feel hollow. As if the child you once were would be disappointed in learning who you are. You’re living someone else’s dream. A dream you never chose.
I’ve been there. Built a meaningful career in my 20s working at the intersection of media and luxury only to start over from scratch when I turned 30 and transitioned into tech. I moved across the planet and immersed myself in a different culture, a different language, only to return to my home country as someone who feels more foreign than not. And now? I’ve climbed the corporate ladder but can’t help but wonder what’s next.
Each time—sometimes faster than others—I knew something had to change. That I needed to choose growth over comfort. When you get pushed to the margin, somewhere neither here nor there—that’s where growth thrives.
A step away from the old life. A step towards the new. A step into the liminal.
There’s a special type of awareness that comes from inhabiting the threshold. From stepping outside of the system.
It’s a vantage point that gives you clarity—to see the patterns that others miss.
I’ve spent the better part of 16 years exploring different paths of inner work. I’ve convinced myself so many times over the years that a particular path—someone else’s path—was the one I should be pursuing. Until I took a step back and realized it wasn’t mine after all. And now? I’ve committed myself to cultivating a perspective that’s my own. Examining from the threshold.
And the more I sit, the more I’m certain there’s more to experience here. And “The Liminal Standard” is where I’m documenting it.
Every Thursday, I’ll share the patterns, the questions, the frameworks I’m building as I go.
I invite you to follow along.
